Friday Fancies: Get Checked for Every Budget

Since I shared with you all my favorite Fall trend yesterday, the grid print. I thought I would share with you today how you can get the look on every budget. But first here are Olivia Palermo & Aimee Song both rocking a grid print jacket at NYFW. How could you not be inspired by their looks.

And since I foresee this trend only getting larger during the cooler months, here are some ways to work this look into your own wardrobe. I may or may not have a few of these pieces already. Haha! I couldn't help myself after seeing all those NYFW pictures.

WIW: White on White

One of Summer's hottest trends that I absolutely love is white on white. Now, with 2 little ones running around it's not really the most practical attire so I generally reserve it for when I know that no messes will be made.
Outfit Details:
Top: Nordstrom Rack [similar here] | Skirt: eBay [similar to Zara] | Shoes: Target [on sale now!] | Bag: Gucci | Bracelets: Groopdealz, Etsy, Charming Charlie's | Sunnies: Windsor

Today, I was also one of the lucky ladies chosen for Friday's Five over at Face It Catalog and Coffee Beans & Bobby Pins. Go and check it out. And why not link up with them while you're at it.

WIW: B&W

Black and white, the most common color combination, but definitely the hardest one for me to get into. I know, weird right!?! I've never been drawn to black clothing as far as I can remember. Maybe it's the Abercrombie brain, you know the weird thing A&F has against wearing black. Ha! I don't know, I mean I did work there for several years while I was in college. No but really, I guess black has always seemed a bit harsh to me so I've always gravitated to brights. However, every now and then I give it a try with the addition of at least one bright accessory or shoes.
And did I mention in my previous post, here, that I snagged these Zara inspired culottes in every color!? Whoops! They were calling out to me.
Outfit Details:
Top: Nordstrom Rack [similar here and here] | Bottoms: eBay | Shoes: Simply Vera Wang | Bag: c/o Aeropostale | Necklace: Forever 21 | Bracelets: Lotus Blossom Design, Forever 21, Groopdealz | Sunnies: Dolce & Gabbana [old]

And just for fun, I wanted to share a few Big Sis' 3 year pictures.
In case you're wondering here's the details on Big Sis' outfit,

WIW: Festival Fever

One reason everyone loves Summer...Music Festivals...DUH! I'm a huge country music fan and there are some amazing country music festivals I would love to go to, but with two little ones toddling around  it's not really possible. I'm a crazy alpha mom or maybe just over protective, either way I don't really like leaving the girls for long periods of tine, hence the stay-at-home status. HA! Even though I won't be headed off to any music festivals anytime soon, it doesn't mean I can't have a little fun and dress like it.
There's just something about chambray. I want it in every form, shirt, skirt, and now dress. Denim seems to go with everything, so I guess that's part of the appeal. And it also helps that it's comfy, causal, and chic. I call that my 3 C's, pieces that meet all those standards are must-haves in my eye.
Pairing a simple chambray dress with booties creates the perfect festival look or for me an easy yet stylish look for running about town with the girls. And to make it a little more me, I glam-ed it up with some sparkly jewels.
Outfit Details:
Dress: Mimi Chica via Nordstrom Rack [similar here] | Booties: H&M [similar here] | Bag: Steve Madden | Necklace: Forever 21 | Bracaelets: Lotus Blossom Design, Stella & Dot | Sunnies: Ray-Ban
I just had to share this picture. Big Sis asked to have her own outfit pictures taken too.
Big Sis is Wearing:
Dress: Target | Shoes: Disney Store
She loves modeling! Haha! This is her new favorite dress. She picked it out while we were at Target and has since asked to wear it every morning. And those shoes, were not my choice, she styled this outfit all on her own. Making her own princess-flower child fashion statement. I'm definitely in for it with this one. Daddy better watch his wallet, she's turning into quite the little fashionista these days.
Getting her to smile for pictures is like pulling teeth, so I was ecstatic when she was willing to for this one.

Peace, Love, & Happiness!

Friday Fancies: Craving Florals

First off, I want to begin by saying, my laptop is in a precarious state. So I'm blogging from my iPad, therefore I apologize that this post isn't going to be up to par. Eek! Hopefully after the weekend all will be back in order. On to my Friday Fancies.

While looking back at my posts this week, it was apparent that I have a thing for floral prints. So it only made sense to share with you all some of my favorite floral pieces that are currently on my wishlist.
Shorts - Forever 21 | Dresses - Lulus & Topshop | Jumpsuit - Zara | Blazer - Zara

And to add that final floral touch to any outfit why not a fabulous bangle.
Bangle available at Lotus Blossom Design.

Hope you all have a wonderful Father's Day weekend!

XO,
Elvy

Two-fer Tuesday: The Tunic

This season one of my favorite pieces has to be the tunic. It's such a versatile piece in my eyes. I picked up this particular one at H&M right before we headed to Maui and got so much use out of it. But even since then I've found so many ways and reasons to wear it beyond just being a swim cover up. Plus there are so many fun prints out there right now. Check out these ones that have caught my eye from J. Crew, ASOS, and J. Crew Factory.

Look 1: Boho for the Day
I really enjoy this look for the day. It's a little festival but not so overdone that it can't be worn for everyday errands.
Look 2: Tunic Turned Dressy
And with a quick change of shoes and a few accessories you're set to go to brunch or even dinner. I actually wore this recently when the Hubs and I went to Paradise Point in San Diego.
The tunic dress is a forgiving piece and can really work for most body types. Belting it can create shape if you're like me and straight up and down. But it also cinches and gives the appearance of a smaller waist if you've got assets elsewhere. And I even like it alone without all the fuss.
Outfit Details:
Look 1 - Vest: American Eagle [only in stores, similar here] | Tunic: H&M | Shoes: H&M [similar here and here] | Necklace: Forever 21 | Bracelets: Lotus Blossom Design, Groopdealz | Sunnies: Coach
Look 2 - Tunic: H&M | Shoes: Rock & Republic [similar here] | Belt: Target | Necklace: Luxe Craving | Bracelets: Lotus Blossom Design, Stella & Dot, Betsey Johnson viz Nordstrom Rack

So if you're looking for a versatile piece that will last you all Summer, I definitely recommend trying this look. H&M is constantly updating their stock and I've seen so many great prints all for $12-$15. Which really can't be beat.

Have a great week! And as always thank you for reading!

WIW: Bring On The Brights

I've never been one to shy away from bold colors so as Summer approaches my outfits tend to become quite colorful. Everything from neon's to hot pinks fill my closet. It's probably why I love the warm weather.

As soon as I saw how perfectly pink this skirt was I knew I had to have it. I must confess that I am a girly girl to a 'T' and anything pink generally grabs my attention, especially when it's Barbie pink like this J. Crew Factory skirt.

I love that a colorful outfit can just brighten your day. And for busy days like the one I had, a bright outfit can help keep you feeling energized to keep going. Paired with cute sandals for going to dance class and running errands or dressed up with a pair of wedges, this bright Summer look will most definitely be on repeat over the next few months.
Outfit Details:
Top: Forever 21 [similar here] | Skirt: J. Crew Factory | Sandals: Target | Belt: from another dress | Necklace: via Nordstrom Rack | Bracelets: Forever 21, J. Crew, Stella & Dot, and Groopdealz | Sunnies: House of Harlow 1960
Another little plus about this skirt, the length is just right for getting down and playing out front with Baby Sis while Big Sis was napping.
And I would also like to quickly Thank Amber over at Real Girl Glam for choosing my as one of her Real Girls With Style. If you blogging ladies haven't linked up with her yet, definitely check out her blog.
As always, Thank you for reading!

WIW: Tomboy Chic

As a self proclaimed Girly Girl it's rare to catch me in something that's not feminine or flirty. But I do love this whole "borrowed from the boys" trend, everything from Boyfriend jeans to plaids and half tucked shirts. I never thought I would really be one to try this trend, but lately I've found that I'm drawn to this look. And add some sparkle to glam it up and it totally works for any Girly Girl.

Frankly, I cannot get over how comfortable I was in this outfit all day. And since I've been doing lots of party prepping for Baby Sis's first birthday party this weekend, this tomboy-ish look was perfect for running around, gathering the final pieces, and crafting.
Outfit Details:
Sweater: H&M [similar here] | Shirt: Joe Fresh for JCPenney | Shorts: Charlotte Russe [old, similar here and here] | Shoes: Simply Vera Wang [old] | Necklace: Luxe Craving | Bracelets: H&M, Groopdealz | Watch: Kenneth Cole via Nordstrom Rack [same here in rose gold] | Sunnies: Ray-Ban

And come back next week for all the details from Baby Sis's first birthday. I can't wait to share it with you all.

Two-fer Tuesday: Neon Heels + Head Stylist

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's day weekend. Celebrating Baby Sis's 1st birthday and spending time with my baby girls was the best gift I could ask for.

This week for Two Ways Tuesday, I wanted to share 2 very different ways to pull off the neon shoe trend. My sister Tiffany actually was the inspiration for this post. She recently just got a pair and wanted me to put together some ways to wear them. So I thought I would share it with you all too since this trend seems to only be getting hotter as it's beginning to warm up. And surprisingly neon seems to go with everything.

I personally love this trend for Summer, it's a fun way of adding color to an outfit and a bit unexpected. I've been obsessed with my Prabal Gurung for Target neon sandals since I laid eyes on them. Since the release of the Prabal Gurung collection, I've even spotted some great dupes if you weren't able to get your hands on a pair and still are looking for something similar.

Casual in Neon
You really can't go wrong pairing a pair of neon heels with a classic tee and boyfriend jeans. The neon pumps give this otherwise Plain Jane look a sense of polish and style. Top it off with a Panama hat for Summer creating a great chic Summer daytime look and some arm candy for a little glitz.

Speaking of arm candy, check out the pretty floral enamel bangle I'm wearing, isn't it pretty? Gina at Lotus Blossom Design and I collaborated on creating a piece that was inspired by my style. And I can't tell you how gorgeous this bangle is in person. Go and pick yourself up one at Lotus Blossom Design. I'm such a lucky girl to have such a sweet and talented friend.
Outfit Details:
Shirt: Unknown via Marshalls | Jeans: American Eagle | Shoes: Prabal Gurung for Target [similar here and here] | Bag: Lockheart via Nordstrom Rack | Hat: H&M [recent, but they're selling out quickly, similar here and here] | Necklaces: Groopdealz | Bracelets: Lotus Blossom Design [collabortaion piece available here], Groopdealz | Sunnies: Coach

Brunch Attire in Neon
For a more pulled together look, I paired my neon heels with a purple shift dress and layered with a striped top. This is perfect for weekend brunching with friends and family. Don't be afraid to pair neons with other bold colors. These neon heels are less overwhelming then you would believe, and provide that little bit of surprise.
Outfit Details:
Shirt: J. Crew [on sale in stores] | Dress: Loft [old, similar here] | Shoes: Prabal Gurung for Target [similar here] | Bag: Target [similar here] | Necklaces: Groopdealz | Bracelets: Groopdealz

I am also excited to tell you all that I have been chosen as this weeks Head Stylist for Style Sessions over at Style Elixir.
