Spotted: one romper + two bloggers

Today, I'm excited to be teaming up with the fabulous Meghan of Citrus Refreshing Fashion. She's stylish and nothing short of sweet, welcoming me into this crazy world of blogging with open arms. She is one of my favorite ladies to follow and I feel so fortunate to get to share with you all how we styled our Ann Taylor LOFT spot print romper

I couldn't resist this romper as soon as I saw Meghan mention on her blog that she snagged it on sale. So I stopped into my local LOFT store and luckily found the last one marked down ridiculously plus an additional 60%. Definitely couldn't say 'no' to that. And since purchasing it, I haven't stopped wearing, well just to wash it. But honestly, I love this romper, it has got to be one of the most comfortable pieces I own. Plus it's super light weight and in this crazy heat wave it's all I want to wear.

It's easily dressed up like Meghan did, or throw a denim vest [another Summer fave of mine] and you've got a great casual look. And like the girly girls we are, Meghan and I both saw it necessary to throw in a colorful shoe. Fashionable minds think alike!

My New Favorite Shoe + Giveaway

Okay, so I'm just going to say it, I'm OBSESSED! With my new Shoemint heels. I've been impatiently waiting for these to arrive. They're the Romy's. They sold out the first time they released them and last month I luckily caught them when they re-released them. They come in nude and black, and trust me I considered getting both colors, but since I have a pair of blush colored lace up heels I settled for just the black pair. But now that I've strapped my little feet in, I'm obsessed and am honestly conteplating getting the nude the next time they release them. And fyi, there is a good chance they will. So if you missed out on them don't fret Shoemint has started a waitlist for these. So get on it NOW! In the mean time I'm pretty sure I'm going to be wearing these as often as I can. Yes, there will be a chance I will be sitting at Big Sis's dance class in these just to strut about in them. They're gorgeous and actually very comfortable. You really can't find a better pair of Giuseppe Zanotti knock-offs.

WIW: Add Some Flare

If you're looking for a fun new trend to try, why not add some flare. You can't go wrong with the ever popular peplum, but if you're a little more daring try a trumpet style skirt. These skirts are so much fun and definitely can make an outfit. I almost missed out on this darling textured flare skirt. I had been eyeing it for quite some time and just procrastinated then my good friend Bianca gave me that final nudge to pull the trigger and pick up this beauty. And boy am I glad I did. I'm so in love with this skirt. Every morning I wake up and hope for a reason to put it on.

WIW: Studded Boho

What's more California girl then a Summer Boho look? I went through several years where I literally lived in Boho looks and imitated everything Nicole Richie, Rachel Zoe, and the Olsen twins wore. Nowadays I've put away lots of my flowy boho attire and opted for more structured pieces. I guess having spent the last several years popping out babies, and living in loose clothing, I'm embracing this time in my life where I can get back into more structured and tailored clothing. But every once in awhile I still like to bring back a little Boho, especially when trying to beat this Summer heat.

WIW: Fourth of July + Weekend Recap

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed your long weekend off. We definitely enjoyed all the festivities, which is why I didn't blog the last half of the week. But I'm back and down to business. First off, Congratulations to Shuly B! She's the lucky lady who'll be receiving the gorgeous floral bangle from Lotus Blossom Design. I hope you enjoy styling your bangle. And thank you to all who entered! Now on to what I wore for this red, white and blue holiday. Anchors and stripes seemed fitting for the day.

Steal Her Style: Blake Lively

What's there not to love about Blake Lively!? She's gorgeous and her closet is to die for. The girl always looks glamorous in everything. And ever since I saw her in this incredible fuchsia, hot pink tube dress, I've been keeping my eye out for a dress in a similar color.

Well, while I was searching for a dress to wear to a Summer wedding I cam across a pretty hot pink frock from Lulu's and knew it was that perfect shade, similar to Blake's. Not only was it a similar color but the back of this dress was just too cute for words. And like Blake I paired this hot pink dress with nude heels. Thank you Blake, for the perfect Summer wedding attire inspiration.

Another Summer wedding must...a sock bun! It took me no time at all to throw my hair into a bun and put a little gold headband on. Easy updo and totally looks put together.

Put a bow on it! Or in this case two bows.

I've been obsessing over everyone's Gigi New York monogrammed clutch and I finally gave in and got myself one. A girl can never have enough monogrammed items in her life.

What's a garden wedding without cute little umbrellas to keep the sun away? In 100 + degree heat any form of shade is appreciated.

The hubs and I. Don't mind the "dewy"/sweaty look. HAHAHA! I was dying in the heat, poor guy was in the wedding party and had to wear this tux all day.

WIW: Elephants Never Looked So Good

Elephant print shorts. Need I say more?

I'm absolutely in love with these shorts! I could have never imagined elephants being so cute. Well except for Dumbo. But these shorts were a must-have as soon as I laid my eyes on them. And, yes, I may be a little animal print crazy, seahorses now elephants. But I can't seem to help myself when they look so darn good on.

I am so lucky to have the bestest friend ever. Since these shorts have been sold out online pretty much since Banana Republic launched the collection I didn't think it was going to be possible to get my hands on them. But thanks to my BFF, Liz, I was able to get these. So if you're still looking for these there are some stores out there that do still have these Milly Collection shorts. And a little tidbit , if they're out of your size in a regular try on a pair of petites in the next size up from your regular size. This was a little tip from the Banana Republic rep. Don't do this with pants but shorts are called shorts for a reason, so a smidge shorter in the inseam won't do any harm.
What makes these shorts so amazing, is that the print isn't as overwhelming as you would imagine elephant printed anything could be. The colors are neutral and makes it an easy piece to mix and match with all sorts of tops even printed ones. Since I love color I chose to pair the shorts with some pinks and a bright bag. But I could easily imagine these shorts paired with a nice pair of black pumps and clutch for dressier affairs.
