Friday Fancies: ASOS Picks

TGIF!!!

Hope you all had a wonderful week. I wanted to share a some of the things I've been lusting after recently and for some reason it's been all about ASOS for me. I'm pretty sure my mailman probably hates all the packages I keep getting from ASOS. HAHAHA! But I'm definitely enjoying them.

If you haven't checked out ASOS before, it's a must. The prices are pretty affordable and they've got a great variety of styles and prices to fit just about everyone's taste and budget.

If there is one thing everyone loves, it's a great sale. And two of my favorite stores are kicking of the Summer with amazing sales. Instead of your typical Friday Fancies post, I'm just going to tell you, that you need to go and check out the Zara and Anthropologie Summer Sales. Both are currently going on right now, and there are some amazing pieces that you must own. I went into Anthro this week and walked out a very happy girl. And Zara's sale just went live at midnight. While looking back at my posts this week, it was apparent that I have a thing for floral prints. So it only made sense to share with you all some of my favorite floral pieces that are currently on my wishlist.

Friday Fancies: Shabby Apple + Giveaway

Happy Friday! I'm sure you're all looking forward to the weekend. And to help kick it off I've teamed up with a fabulous online boutique, Shabby Apple to bring you this week's Friday Fancies and a fabulous giveaway.
If you haven't heard of Shabby Apple, I highly recommend you check out their website. As soon as I found their boutique I was immediately awe struck. Shabby Apple is an online dress boutique that specializes in vintage and retro dresses. Check out their beautiful collection of vintage inspired fashions, here.

I adore vintage looks. I swear if I could live in any fashion era it definitely would be the 1930's-40's. To this day I love watching old movies just to admire their fashion. And Shabby Apple gives me a little taste of what was. Which is why I'm so obsessed with their classic A-line skirts and beautiful prints. For any girly girl who loved playing dress up and having tea parties as a child, this vintage inspired dress boutique is definitely a must shop.

Check out a few of my favorite pieces from Shabby Apple.

Classic looks are all the rage these days. And Shabby Apple has perfectly curated a beautiful collection of retro inspired pieces without looking dated. Take for instance their skirts, every girl needs a great A-line skirt in their closet. This cut is flattering on every shape and so pretty and playful for the Summer time. I can see myself wearing all of their fashions for lunch dates, brunches, weddings, and a little wine tasting this Summer.

You, also may have noticed my current obsession for hats. So as soon as I spotted this one on their website I immediately started drooling over the darling retro hat.
Now it's your turn, go and check out all the chic vintage dresses and skirts at Shabby Apple and tell me your favorite pieces. I know you'll find their clothes and accessories as charming and beautiful as I did.

To make it all even better, Shabby Apple would like to give one loyal Pigtails & Pearls reader a $50 gift card to purchase anything they would like from their boutique. How amazing is that?! I'm kind of jealous, totally wishing I could enter myself.

I think I have a thing for yellow. I didn't even realize that pretty much everything I've been wanting is yellow until I put together this style board. Oh well, what better way to embrace the warm weather then with this sunny color.

WIW: Black and White + Bargain Shopping Tips

Creating stylish looks on a budget is my motto. While I love designer brands just like everyone else, I know it's not reasonable to only wear big labels. Plus it's not really my style to flash a bunch of labels. I love stores like Forever 21 and H&M because they allow you to create on trend looks without blowing your budget. Other stores I love are Nordstrom Rack and J. Crew Factory. Some online retailers I'm sure you've probably heard me raving about too are ASOS, Groopdealz, Very Jane, and Shoe Dazzle. All which provide trendy pieces at great prices and even free shipping.

I think when you're able to mix high end and low end pieces is when you're most fashionable. Then you aren't dictated by labels and can create your own looks. Like this black and white look I wore this weekend, all the pieces were purchased at bargain prices and from most of the retailers I listed above. Aside from my bag and sunnies all pieces were under $20 per item.

The best way to score bargains is to sign up for email subscriptions. Yes, they are annoying to get all the time in your inbox, but honestly there are some great deals. For example, recently Forever 21 sent out a "Friends & Family" offer of 21% off your purchase. Come on, Forever 21 never offers discounts on their full priced items. So I was definitely all over this sale checking out things that I had put on the back burner because I wasn't sure it was necessary. And if you're a J. Crew addict like I am then you need to join their Factory mailing list. It gives you first dibs on new items plus free shipping the day before they go public online. Another little tidbit about J. Crew and their Factory websites, they always update their site at exactly midnight or 9pm for all us west coasters. Which means sales immediately go up at that time and they restock then too.  I almost always check both websites before going to bed. Call me crazy, but I've managed to score major sales on in demand items this way such as the sequined chevron tee last Fall.

Another little secret of mine is the Wrapp app. If you don't have it yet get it. It works with several large retailers like Old Navy, Victoria's Secret, and H&M, allowing you to send e-gift cards through their app. But what makes it so great is they often have promotions where you can get free gift cards. H&M, always offers a $6 gift amount that you can give to friends and receive from friends for FREE! I am constantly giving friends them and getting them in return. They sometimes even offer a $10 one and all you have to do is send your friends the free gift amount. I've saved so much money at H&M through this app. Gap and Old Navy sometimes offer free gift cards worth $5. So I'm telling you this app is a must have if you're a shopaholic like me.

Friday Fancies: Mother's Day Gift Guide

Mother's Day Gift Guide

With Mother's day looming, I wanted to put together a little guide of things that would make for a great Mother's Day present, in case you all are in need of some inspiration. All of which I would not mind waking up to. Not that a homemade drawing from the girls wouldn't do just fine. It's the thought that counts right? But one of these might be nice too. ;)

And don't forget to enter the Blue Nile Earring giveaway. Maybe you'll win yourself a little gift for Mother's Day.

President's Day Sale Pick-ups

Who doesn't love a good sale!? And this President's Day weekend did not disappoint.

I went into our usual stops at the mall, picked up a couple of goodies at Baby Gap. By far, I was the most excited about the J. Crew sale online. They're currently offering an additional 40% off sale items and FREE SHIPPING on everything. We all love free shipping. So I jumped all over this sale, especially since they recently updated their sale section with some new items.

Check out what I snagged:
Big Sis - Dress & Skirt: Gap [on sale in stores + additional 40% off, total was just under $13]
Me - Wild Side Skinny Bangle: $29.70 | No. 2 Pencil Skirt: $23.99 | Pop Art Dot Tee: $23.70 | iPhone 5 Case: $13.50

I've been eyeing the Wild Side bangle for months, but for the most part it has been sold out or wait listed.  So when I saw this on sale, plus the additional 40% off, it was like 'DUH!?' As for the No. 2 pencil skirt, I've seen so many positive reviews about it, but have never tried it. And now it'll finally be time to see if the skirt lives up to it's reputation. I'm hoping it fits because they were sold out of the 00P, so I had to go with the 0P. Based on the size chart J. Crew provides, the waist on the 0P is a teeny tiny bit smaller then the 00R. So I'm crossing my fingers it's true. The Pop Art tee just looked fun. A girl can't ever have too many comfy tees. And isn't the phone cover adorable? Shoes, Shoes, Shoes!

Hope you're all enjoying the long weekend!
