Grid And Bare It

If you're anything like me, then even though you weren't at New York Fashion Week you were still following all the fashions from afar. With so many forms of social media there's so many ways to see what was happening without having to be there.  What stood out to me in so many pictures was all the grid prints. It seemed everyone was wearing some variation of it. And so many collections offered grid print pieces. Seems to me that the grid print will be replacing stripes this season. And don't get me wrong, I love stripes but the grid print is a fresh take on the classic stripe. So I went looking for ways to work this new print into my Fall wardrobe along with my new Phillip Lim for Target purchases.

Black, White, & Pink

Hey Everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your last official weekend of Summer. If you follow me on Instagram, then you should know I packed the girls up bright and early and headed to Target yesterday morning to snag some Phillip Lim goodies. And so glad I did. I got my hands on the very limited yellow mini satchel. Woohoo!!! We were second in line, that's not saying much since there were probably only about 10 of us in line total, perks of living in a small town. No one to fight over purses with. HAHAHAHA! Well I hope you all had a chance to pick up some goodies from Target's collaboration. Can't wait to share with you all the things I picked up. Check them out in the upcoming posts.
Today, I wanted to share a cute little crop top I came across and had to have. Now, the only other time I wore a crop top this Summer was in Maui. I felt like it was appropriate and didn't feel like it was too scandalous as a mom. All Summer long the trend was going strong and I kept wanting to try it again but in a more modest way. Kind of an oxymoron I know, but I knew that if I searched long and hard I would find a crop top that wouldn't bare too much and could actually look chic. 
I just recently found this great crop top from Zara. With its long sleeves and loser fit on the body it was just what I had been looking for. And since then I've been loving it. I can pair it with any high waisted skirt and it just barely shows a sliver of skin.

My New Favorite Shoe + Giveaway

Okay, so I'm just going to say it, I'm OBSESSED! With my new Shoemint heels. I've been impatiently waiting for these to arrive. They're the Romy's. They sold out the first time they released them and last month I luckily caught them when they re-released them. They come in nude and black, and trust me I considered getting both colors, but since I have a pair of blush colored lace up heels I settled for just the black pair. But now that I've strapped my little feet in, I'm obsessed and am honestly conteplating getting the nude the next time they release them. And fyi, there is a good chance they will. Peplum + Leopard

I hope you all had a lovely Labor Day weekend! And hopefully you got in some shopping. There were definitely some great sales. Now that the last Summer holiday has passed, I'm officially ready to work some Fall trend into my Summer wardrobe. Although I'm not quite ready for Summer to be over I do have a few Fall trends I can't help but dive right into. One that is sure to be a hit is the leopard trend. We saw lots of it all Summer and it seems it'll be even hotter this Fall. And my favorite way to rock this look is, shoes! A pair of leopard print shoes can give a simple look some interest. 
For a casual afternoon of shopping with my girls, I paired my leo shoes with my favorite boyfriend fit shorts. A little FYI, it took me all Summer to find the perfect pair of BF shorts. If you're still expecting Summer temps and are looking for a pair, try Aeropostale. I know, it's teen store, but for those of us on the petite side the sizing is a much better fit and with all the great sales they have you're bound to snag a pair for a ridiculously good price.

WIW: Mint Tutu

Tutu's aren't just for little girls! As a mom of 2 baby girl's I have an abundance of tutu's in my house, but it's not just relegated to the girls. This momma likes to get in one the tutu action every once in awhile too. 

There's nothing more girly then throwing on a tutu. And somedays it's nice to embrace the ballerina inside of us. Call me a dance mom if you must, but dressing my girls up for dance class every week makes me want to do the same. Plus this mint tutu is such a dreamy color, obviously I'm not fully ready to relinquish my Summer wardrobe to the richer hues of Fall. And who says you have to! You bet I'll still be rocking white after Labor Day.

WIW: Feeling Retro

It's all about the maxi dress this week! And this striped number I picked up at the Old Navy Blogger Night gives off a great retro vibe. Playing on that retro feel, I paired this dress with a gold turban headband from Jameson Monroe. There are so many great turban headbands available right now, but this gold one just grabbed my attention.

Beyond the fun 70's vibe this dress gives off, it's fast becoming a quick go-to piece when I'm in a hurry or too busy to put together an outfit. This week has been an absolutely crazy one with, Big Sis starting preschool, a trip to Disneyland, playdates, and dance class too. So there's nothing better then a great maxi dress that looks stylish without trying. And the swing fit of this maxi in particular leaves so much room for movement and feels so soft and airy which with the latest heat wave is totally necessary.

WIW: White Maxi

So I'm back from my little hiatus last week. It was a nice little break, gave me sometime to recharge. And I'm kicking off the week with another white look. It's honestly been so hot here in Socal that it's uncomfortable to get dressed. Therefore, I've been turning to lots of white outfits just because they feel crisp and fresh in this 100 degree heat, especially this white maxi dress I found at Zara. It's light and airy and beyond comfortable. Normally I'm not found of belts that usually come attached with clothes but I loved the orange printed belt that came with this dress.

One of Summer's hottest trends that I absolutely love is white on white. Now, with 2 little ones running around it's not really the most practical attire so I generally reserve it for when I know that no messes will be made.

Steal Her Style: Blake Lively

What's there not to love about Blake Lively!? She's gorgeous and her closet is to die for. The girl always looks glamorous in everything. And ever since I saw her in this incredible fuchsia, hot pink tube dress, I've been keeping my eye out for a dress in a similar color.

Well, while I was searching for a dress to wear to a Summer wedding I cam across a pretty hot pink frock from Lulu's and knew it was that perfect shade, similar to Blake's. Not only was it a similar color but the back of this dress was just too cute for words. And like Blake I paired this hot pink dress with nude heels. Thank you Blake, for the perfect Summer wedding attire inspiration.

Another Summer wedding must...a sock bun! It took me no time at all to throw my hair into a bun and put a little gold headband on. Easy updo and totally looks put together.

Put a bow on it! Or in this case two bows.

I've been obsessing over everyone's Gigi New York monogrammed clutch and I finally gave in and got myself one. A girl can never have enough monogrammed items in her life.

The hubs and I. Don't mind the "dewy"/sweaty look. HAHAHA! I was dying in the heat, poor guy was in the wedding party and had to wear this tux all day.
