Shifty

Yes, it's Fall. And yes, I'm still wearing neon. It's a bit hard to jump head first into Fall fashion when it's still so warm out during the day. I try to work in Fall colors or trends but then I go outside and it's 90 degrees and it's got me feeling all summery again. It's not until after 4 in the afternoon that it starts to cool. So for now I'm still strutting about town in my Summer favorites. And this little neon DVF number is amongst my favorites. It needs nothing to give it pizzazz and that may be the reason I love it so much. It stands out all on its own no statement necklace or arm party needed. It's a comfy number that I can literally throw on in a rush and head out the door to do my morning errands and preschool drop off.

Sporting a Leather Cap 2 Ways

So my good friend Bianca over at Lotus Blossom Design had me re-thinking my ban against baseball caps. All Summer long I lived in my Panama hat and my big floppy sun hats. But now that it's officially Fall it's time to find a new hat for the season. And I've been seeing a lot of faux leather baseball caps. But I've always kept a distance from them because I swear I look like an Asian tourist and well that's not the cutest look. However, after seeing how cute B looked in her's I thought I would give it a second chance. So after dropping Big Sis off at preschool, Baby Sis and I ran our errands and did our typical mall crawl. And I stumbled upon this lovely bordeaux faux leather cap. It was love at first sight. I loved that it wasn't your typical black faux leather, and don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with that. I just felt like black faux leather was a little too edgy for my taste, but the rich wine color just called out to me. Gave it a try, and off to the register we went. Long story, short, I've been pretty much living in it all weekend. Can't get enough of this hat. I've literally been planning my outfits around it. Which leads me to today's look(s). I decided since I had so much wearing it all weekend, I would share with you guys 2 different ways to style a faux leather baseball cap.

Rhinestones + Elephants

First I want to start off saying that we're moving!!! Crazy business. Granted it's just across town, but still exciting. Thinking about having to move everything though is daunting. I'm not really the greatest at condensing things down so we may have an issue. Especially with all the baby stuff. I'm just not ready to part with any of it. And that's the other sad part, we've been in our house for 5 years now and we brought both girls home here so I may cry when we do finally say good-bye to this house. Also I'll most likely be posting less since I'll be packing and cleaning the house. And that giveaway I promised last week, I'll have to hold off on until next week. Sorry!

On to other things, with the recent Labor Day sales, I just had to share with you my favorite find, the J. Crew Tilda rhinestone top. Since it's release earlier this year, I've had my eye on it, but was not willing to shell out the money for it. But lucky me, I found it marked down plus the additional 30% off at J. Crew in SD. I snatched up the very last one in my size and scurried off to the registers. I couldn't believe my luck. I just adore the rhinestone detailing on the collar. I immediately washed and pressed it so I could wear it. HAHA! When I love something I just can't help myself. Did you guys find anything amazing during all the Labor Day sales?

WIW: Palm It + the Sizzlin Summer Giveaway Winners

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a pleasant weekend. It was a nice low-key weekend for us, whew! After all the birthday celebrations for Big Sis it was nice to not have any plans, especially since we're taking the girls to Legoland this week. I swear my life has revolved around which theme park we're off to next. And the Summer blackout dates for Disneyland Annual Passholders will be over soon so we'll be back at Disneyland twice a month again very soon. That one I'm excited for. But between birthdays, getting ready for preschool, and the next dance season, I'm on overdrive.

But I refuse to believe Summer is coming to an end. I guess that's easy living in Socal since it's pretty warm year around. Even so, I will continue to wear shorts at least until the temperature drops. That's why I'm so excited about all the Summer sales that have been going on.

Today, I'm wearing this easy breezy ZARA wrap blouse and palm printed shorts from Old Navy. I found both items on sale. YAY! Who doesn't love a sale. And these palm printed shorts are so much fun. You guys may remember that I found these while at the Old Navy Blogger Event a couple of weeks ago. Well I've pretty much been living in these shorts. I can't get enough of all the palm prints this Summer and the colors in these shorts make it that much better.

WIW: Sisterhood of the Traveling Isabels

So excited to finally be doing a collaboration with one of my best gal pals, Bianca of Lotus Blossom Design. She's stylish, sassy and so bad for my wallet. HAHA! The girl talked me into starting our very own version of the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" late one night. And so what happens, we both splurge and go in on these amazing Isabel Marant printed jeans all while we're both in bed, on opposite coasts. Perks of having a friend who's the same size, down fall, girl moved across the country a few months ago.

Now that you know our back story, we wanted to share with you all 2 different ways to style these fabulous printed jeans. I kept my look casual for an evening of shopping while B, got all dolled up in hers. How adorbs is she!? WIW: Fourth of July + Weekend Recap

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed your long weekend off. We definitely enjoyed all the festivities, which is why I didn't blog the last half of the week. But I'm back and down to business. First off, Congratulations to Shuly B! She's the lucky lady who'll be receiving the gorgeous floral bangle from Lotus Blossom Design. I hope you enjoy styling your bangle. And thank you to all who entered! Now on to what I wore for this red, white and blue holiday. Anchors and stripes seemed fitting for the day.

WIW: Mint + Coral

As of late, I've been pleasantly surprised by Forever 21. Besides yesterday's floral outfit, I also came across this simple mint striped chiffon top. I've been in need of new light Summer tops and well it combined two of my favorite things, mint and stripes, so it just called to me. But don't get me wrong Forever 21 still has lots of crazy stuff that I don't really understand, so I'll just leave that to those crazy teenagers to try. For me, simple pieces like this will do just fine.

And for a casual dinner out with some family, this chiffon tee was the perfect option paired with coral wedges. This is definitely a color combo that I haven't tired of yet and don't see myself tiring of anytime soon.
