WIW: Comfort is Key

Comfort is absolutely key to dressing here in SoCal as we start heading into the Summer months. Honestly it starts getting so warm that it's almost unbearable. So what better way to keep the sun away then a great hat. I'm sure you saw me wearing this Panama hat all over Maui and recently in my Two-fer Tuesday post a couple of weeks ago. It's most definitely the best $12 I've spent.

I've never been a hat person. mostly because I kind of have a small head and most hats just don't fit. And well the kids hats usually have some print that just doesn't work for me. But when I stumbled upon this hat at H&M I knew I just had to have it and luckily they made it in a smaller size. If you follow me on Pinterest, you may have noticed I've been pinning a lot of looks with hats. Now that I've found this one I'm on the look out for others. I guess you could say that I've sort of become obsessed with hats.

The Panama hat really pulled together my whole look. Without the hat it would just be another simple look and nothing interesting.

What I Wore: Blooming in Kate Spade

Easter was the perfect reason to wear this Kate Spade dress. This has got to be one of the best finds ever at Nordstrom Rack. I picked this dress up a few months ago for around $30. Ridiculous, right!? I can't believe how lucky I was to come across it. I absolutely adore this dress, the cut is just so flattering. It has a beautiful scoop back and the print is so on trend.

When I bought the dress it was a tad too big around the waist and the chest. But not enough that it would deter me from purchasing at only $30. I figured I would either get it taken in or shrink it. And since the material wasn't anything that could get ruined in the wash, I decided to try the latter of the two options. The end product was a perfect fit. So glad I tried that before shelling out money to get it tailored.

I've found myself needing to try shrinking a lot of my clothes lately. I'm truly grateful that shedding all the baby weight and then some has been easy. But it's getting a bit ridiculous now, I'm starting to feel like a 12 year old boy. Which makes it hard to find clothing that fits, especially bottoms. I actually had to reach out to my good friend, who happens to be very petite, to find some jean suggestions. Would love to hear suggestions from any of you petite gals as well.

Vegas Weekend Outfitted in Mint and Neon

So our Vegas vacation was a short and sweet getaway for the weekend. We just got home this afternoon and I couldn't be happier to see my girls. Seeing their little faces light up when they saw the Hubs and I was the best thing ever.
As I said last week, I'm trying to pack more practically in preparation for our week long Muai vacation in April. In doing so, I attempted to pack only outfits in mint and neon. Therefore lessening the number of accessories and shoes I would have to bring. And also giving me more room for shopping! We all know that's the real reason for packing lightly. Vegas shopping is ridiculously amazing, can't ever resist. That's why once we checked into our hotel, it was time to start shopping. It only made sense since the Hubs wanted to take a quick nap and I can never resist the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace.
My airport/shopping attire:
Shirt: J. Crew [same here] | Jeans: American Eagle [I can't go anywhere without these, same here] | Booties: H&M [recent, last worn here] | Bag: Lockheart via Nordstrom [old, similar here] | Watch: Target | Bracelets: J. Crew [similar here], Stella & Dot | Sunnies: Vince Camuto [same here]

Switched it up for a casual dinner at Margaritaville in this number.
Blazer: Target [snatched this one up for $10, similar here] | Shirt: Unknown via Marshalls [similar here] | Jeans: Paige Denim Petite via Nordstrom Rack [similar here] | Shoes: Shoedazzle [similar here and here] | Bag: Target [same here] | Bracelets: Lotus Blossom Design, Groopdealz [similar here]

For Lunch at Serendipity:
Top: Target [same here] | Jeans: American Eagle | Necklace: Luxe Craving [last worn here] | Watch & Bracelets [same as above]

Shirt: Forever 21 [old, similar here] | Jeans, Shoes [see above] | Bracelets: Target, ILY Couture, J. Crew, Stella & Dot | Necklace: Hello Fab [last worn here]

A few of the essentials:
Shoes: Shoedazzle | Sunnies: Vince Camuto | Bracelets: Stella & Dot, ILY Couture, J. Crew | Bag: Target

Enjoying margaritas and these legs.

Attempting to pack only things that matched my mint and neon color palette, actually did make it much easier to decide on what outfits to take. And surprisingly it was the first time that I actually wore everything I packed, aside from a dress that it was too windy for. I found using this method rather helpful. It definitely took less time to pack too.

So to all of you who are heading on vacation and wanting to pack lightly, give this a try.
