WIW: Blueprints

I'm so exited to be sharing with you this look, mostly because I love these shorts. I found these babies while scouring the racks of Marshalls. I was so happy they were exactly my size, I don't have a pair of floral shorts and was actually thinking I needed a pair.

There are so many outfit possibilities with these shorts. And print mixing was the first thing that came to my mind when I spotted these shorts. Who doesn't love a little print mixing, right?

WIW: Comfort is Key

Comfort is absolutely key to dressing here in SoCal as we start heading into the Summer months. Honestly it starts getting so warm that it's almost unbearable. So what better way to keep the sun away then a great hat. I'm sure you saw me wearing this Panama hat all over Maui and recently in my Two-fer Tuesday post a couple of weeks ago. It's most definitely the best $12 I've spent.

I've never been a hat person. mostly because I kind of have a small head and most hats just don't fit. And well the kids hats usually have some print that just doesn't work for me. But when I stumbled upon this hat at H&M I knew I just had to have it and luckily they made it in a smaller size. If you follow me on Pinterest, you may have noticed I've been pinning a lot of looks with hats. Now that I've found this one I'm on the look out for others. I guess you could say that I've sort of become obsessed with hats.

The Panama hat really pulled together my whole look. Without the hat it would just be another simple look and nothing interesting.

What I Wore: Knotty in Gingham

One of my favorite patterns to play with these days is gingham. I love the classic print. There are just so many ways to wear this preppy print.

With the weather warming up it's making it harder to wear all those button up shirts that I stalked up on last Fall and Winter. So an easy way to keep wearing those shirts is to simply knot the bottom of the shirt. But nothing along the lines of Britney Spears. It's much less scandalous and definitely more wearable to tie a low knot. So to not reveal too much skin. I determine how high to knot my tops based on the rise of my bottoms.  With a high waisted bottom you can get away with a knot higher up.

Simply knotting a shirt is also a great solution for all those tops that are bit too big. I have quite a few of those in closet so it's great that those shirts don't have to be shoved into a corner. This is one 90's trend revival I stand by.

What I Wore: Pretty Pastels

One of Spring's hottest trends, pastels, seems to be making it's appearance on and off the runway. As your typical girly girl, I have absolutely no complaints and these pretty sorbet shades couldn't be any easier to fall in love with. Even a pastel oxford shirt is made more feminine in these softer hues. And it just so happens, the hottest way to wear this trend currently is to wear a head to toe pastel ensemble.
The Details:
Top: Joe Fresh for JCP [same here, see my review here] | Pants: Love 21 for Forever 21 [similar here] | Shoes: unknown [old, similar here] | Scarf: Forever 21 [similar here] | Bag: Jennifer Lopez for Kohls [similar here] | Necklace: J. Aren't these colors just so pretty? And they're perfect for Easter. Are you pairing pastels?

What I Wore: Red, White, Blue, and Leopard

Lately, I've been drawn to classic styles. It just feels like a breath of fresh air amongst all the crazy neon and geometric prints currently in trend. While I am an avid fan of mixing prints, it's nice to take a step back and put on a simple, yet timeless look every now and then. But even classic looks can be jazzed up with a few head turning pieces, like a bold necklace or a great pair of shoes.

The Details:
Coat: Gap [old, similar here] | Top: H&M [old, similar here] | Jeans: American Eagle Jeggings [same here] | Shoes: Apt 9 for Kohls [similar here] | Bag: Burberry [old] | Belt: Gap [similar here] | Necklace: Luxe Craving [same here] | Bracelets: J. Crew [similar here], Stella & Dot, ILY Couture, F21 | Watch: Merona for Target [same here] | Sunnies: Vince Camuto [same here]

How amazing is this necklace? I actually just won this beauty from a recent giveaway over at Leopard and Lillies. As soon as I saw this necklace, I knew I had to have it and lucky enough saw that the lovely, Amy Fohr of Leopard & Lillies was coordinating a giveaway with Luxe Craving for it. Yipee! I assure you all will be seeing more of this gem in the future.

Thanks again for reading and stay fabulous!

What I Wore: Casual Camo Weekend

Ever since I picked up the uber popular camo skinnies from Zara during their recent sale, I've pretty much looked for as many ways to wear them as possible. I just love them and military inspired looks are so hot right now. Also, I swear these pants just seem to go with everything, especially since mixed prints are in.
What I'm Wearing:
Vest: Steve Madden via TJ Maxx [last seen here] | Top: Forever 21 [similar here and here] | Pants: Zara [similar here, also spotted some a Target on a recent trip] | Shoes: Target [on sale in stores $10, other colors available online] | Necklace: Forever 21 | Sunnies: Vince Camuto [same here]

So...let's get honest here, who really washes their clothes every single time after wearing them? Not I! Unless, I've been spit up on or spilled on. I generally will re-wear something twice before it gets thrown in the hamper. I mean, what's the point of washing something if you only wear it for two or three hours? No matter how much I love getting dressed up, it doesn't last long. I usually end up changing into jeans and a tee, once we're home.

Well, I wanted to wear these pants again while I took the girls out to feed the ducks at our local duck pond. So I did. I didn't get too many pictures of this outfit, but you'll get the idea.
What I'm Wearing:
Top: J. Crew Factory [same here] | Pants: Zara | Shoes: Steve Madden via Marshalls [similar here] | Necklace: Hello Fab | Watch: Kohls | Bracelet: Stella & Dot | Sunnies: Vince Camuto

And here's one of my girls and I feeding the ducks. The matching was unintentional. I think I was just having a stripes moment while getting dressed that morning. This is a rare occurrence, but every once in a while, when I'm feeling a look sometimes it tends to spread to the girls too. As Britney would say, "oops...I did it again!"

Hope you all have a fabulous rest of your week!
