WIW: Fanciful Floral

So you all may think I'm crazy, but I love these pants! I really do! I've been considering trying the tapered pant trend for some time. I wasn't too sure about this type of pant and how it would actually look on, but after trying them on I decided that I liked them. I found these cobalt blue ones at Forever 21 and for under $20.
I love going to Forever 21 when I'm considering trying a trend that I'm not too sure of. I don't like to splurge on trends that I can't wear all the time. And I love these pants but it's definitely not something that can be worn frequently. Being as I'm only 5'4, I will always have to wear these with heels otherwise I'll just look like a frumpy midget. The cut of these pants make you appear hippier then in actuality, which shortens the legs so the need for heels with these pants is necessary.
And in the midst of looking for these pants, I stumbled across this pretty floral tank. I basically tried on this entire look in the fitting room and fell in love with the whole outfit. I loved how the floral top made these pants look fancier. It's perfect for Summer nights out when I don't feel like wearing a dress [my usual go-to].
Outfit Details:
Top: Forever 21 [n/a online] | Bottoms: Forever 21 [available online in navy] | Shoes: Shoedazzle | Bag: Target [2012 Limited Edition Collection, similar] | Necklace: Hello Fab | Bracelets: Groopdealz & Forever 21 | Sunnies: Juicy Couture via Marshalls
OMG! How amazing are those shoes?! I stumbled across these thanks to Laura over at Walking in Memphis in High Heels. They're fabulous dupes for the Valentino Rockstud pumps and they're from Shoedazzle. I've shopped with Shoedazzle in the past, but for the most part try to stay away from their site only because I would buy everything at the prices they offer and the super fast free shipping. Last year they had very similar ones that sold out, but these ones recently became available and I immediately snatched a pair up as soon as Laura said she just bought them.

WIW: Double Mint

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We kept it low key with some pool time and a little birthday dinner to celebrate my cousin's 12th birthday.
So this weekend, while I was debating on what to wear again as usual. I realized that I had these ill fitting mint skinnies that I just couldn't stand any longer. So I decided that it was time to take them to the chopping block. And Ta-Da! I've got new mint shorts. Thank goodness I don't have to deal with the awkward stretching of the skinnies anymore.
And with my new shorts, I wanted to create a monochromatic mint look because I'm just obsessed with this color. Plus I've had this mirror printed mint ombre blouse sitting in my closet that I hadn't worn in months and have been looking at everyday. So paired with my new mint shorts, I had a whole new look.
Double mint, double the fun!
Outfit Details:
Top: H&M [old,] | Bottoms: H&M [old, similar here and here] | Shoes: Steve Madden via Marshalls [same here] | Necklace: Forever 21 [similar here] | Bracelets: Etsy & J. Crew [similar here] | Sunnies: House of Harlow
Also, these nude patent strappy Steve Madden sandals are great dupes for the Zara ones and at half the cost. So if you've been eyeing them at Zara but are like me, unwilling to shell out the money for them, check Marshalls. And they're quite comfortable, which can't be said for many strappy heeled sandals.
Have a fabulous week!

Friday Fancies: Sunny Striped Skirt

This week for Friday Fancies, instead of sharing my wishlist, I wanted to share a piece that caught my eye while catching up on my DVR'ed shows.
If you watch Glee this may look familiar, it's Kitty in the Season finale episode.
We all know my pension for bright colors and this outfit immediately caught my attention. The monochromatic yellow outfit was perfection. And that skirt...just spoke to me. I knew I had to have it. That is until I went online and found out it was $300. So now I'm on the hunt for a similar skirt.
After some searching, I came across a pretty similar version. What do you think?
I hope you all have a great weekend! Make sure to come back and see all the fun details from Baby Sis' Big Top 1st Birthday Bash.
And as always, Thank You for following!

Beauty by Tiffany: Staying Matte

Hello ladies! While my sister is soaking up the sun, I'm here giving you some more insight for Spring makeup! Spring is only the beginning of warm weather and that only means more sun shine! Unfortunately, for some of us, that only means one thing for our skin ... more oils, on top of sun protection (as if that doesn't make me shiny enough!). I've always struggled with oily skin so I'm always excited when I see matte-fying face products!
I've come across three drugstore powders that I use religiously to keep my face matte through out the day. All of these products are available at local drugstores, except NYX cosmetics (that are newly available at Target). All of the powders rangle from about $9-10, so they are very affordable! The three I am about to share will be suitable for any occasion!
Neutrogena's Shine Control Powder is great for everyday use and blotting! It's made with rice protein complex which is used in blotting sheets! This powder comes in one color which is "Invisible 10." It's a transparent powder. You can see it to set your makeup or even to place on your t-zone over a foundation powder. It's a great one to carry on the go for blotting purposes. Even though it is a white powder, don't let that scare you! It does not leave any sort of white cast in pictures or dusty-ness on your face. I personally use this powder on long days spent at Disneyland and I stay matte all day, so I can guarantee it's long lasting! For all you ladies who like to keep it light and simple, this powder will not let you down.
Recently, Ulta had a 40% off (select beauty companies) sale and I had to grab a ton of products I've been wanting to try and of course I was immediately drawn to two matte powders. One of the matte finishing powders was the "Set It, Don't Fret It," mineral powder ... such a catchy name right? The second powder was a powder foundation called "Stay Matte, Not Flat" another cute name of course! Both are amazing powders that keep me matte through out the day! The mineral powder gives such a flawless finish and is light weight...  perfect for setting your foundation and concealer. For the days I prefer more coverage, I use the powder foundation. I find it comparable to Mac's Studio Fix Powder Foundation ($27), and not even half the price! Depending on the coverage you prefer, both these products do what they claim ... keep you matte through out the day!
Another popular matte powder is the "Stay Matte" powder, unfortunately I haven't tried this one out, but our cousin, Brittney has! Here's her review on the matte powder from Rimmel Cosmetics! Very affordable and great for young girls to women!

Whether you're a full coverage girl, just looking for a flawless finish, or just simply want to stay matte and natural ... one of these three powders will definitely suit you and your skin type! With these drugstore prices you can't complain either!

Look for Less: Kate Spade #PUTABOWONIT

Kate Spade's newest collection, "Put A Bow On It," is pretty amazing. All the pictures from their New York Fashion Week presentation were breath taking. And now the collection is available and right on trend for Spring. The pieces are feminine and classic. But the price tag isn't so budget friendly, or what I like to call "husband friendly." Most of the time, I find myself picking up Kate Spade pieces at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, or Nordstrom Rack. But in the mean time I found some great dupes that you can pick up for a  fraction of the price.
Bow Dress: Kate Spade - Marilyn dress $478 & Cora dress $378 | ASOS $76.30
Bow Pumps: KS $328 | Sole Society $59.95 or ASOS $84.78
Bow Print Top: KS $278 | Delia's $29.50
Handbag: KS $398 | Zara $39.90

Splurge or Steal? It's up to you, but for me a few of these dupes are definitely serious contenders.
Usually if I like a trend, my girls end up sporting it too. Here are a few pieces for the little fashionista in your life.
1. Baby Gap | 2. Carters | 3. Baby Gap | 4. Carters | 5. Crew Cuts
I've got my eye on those Gap pants for Big Sis. Just waiting for a sale to come along so I can pick them up.
Will you be "putting a bow on it?"
