Makeover Monday: Dior Dupe

Hey Y'all! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. To kick off the week I just had to share a little hidden gem my sister stumbled upon recently. Tiffany has managed to find a new mascara that is totally worth running out to your local drugstore for immediately. And all I have to say is DIOR what!?
Team short and sparse eyelashes over here! I've always hated having short lashes ... in middle school and high school, I used to layer on tons of different mascaras for length and volume. Then I finally discovered false eyelashes and I've been hooked since. Lately, I've been getting back into mascaras just to catch up on current raved about products! While doing so I learned that an underdog mascara has one crazy secret that will change any girl's makeup routine! Word on the block is that the Dior Show Mascara [available here] that is priced at $25 dollars does WONDERS for volume ... well did any of you ladies know that the Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara [available here] that's only about $7-8 at your local drugstore has the SAME brush? Both brushes are thick and wide to volumize lashes! I personally have never tried the Dior Show Mascara because it's a bit out of my price range since I'm not a mascara junkie anymore! But I did pick up the Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara and I haven't put it down since! I double the mascara with my Loreal Paris Shocking Extensions Mascara (which I use for lengthening and separating my lashes)! This combination does wonders for my short and sparse lashes! I promise you that the Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara is the best hidden secret ever!

Hope you guys have a lovely week! And I can't wait to share with you all the details of my first blogger event that I will be attending tonight in San Diego. Stay tuned!

Today, I have the amazing opportunity to collaborate with the beautiful and sweet Laura from Walking in Memphis in High Heels. We're bringing to you how to style a simple black skater skirt for both day and night.

A black skater skirt is a staple piece. It literally goes with everything. I know I get so much wear out of mine both during the day and night. Which is why I'm so glad Laura and I get to show you two different ways to wear this versatile piece. Laura will be sharing with you her daytime look while I have the pleasure of sharing with you all a more dressed up night time look.
Outfit Details:
Top: H&M [old, similar faux leather front tee here] | Skirt: H&M [similar here] | Shoes: eBay | Bag: Gigi New York [last seen here] | Necklace: Forever 21 [old, craving this one, here] | Bracelets: J. Crew, Charming Charlie's, Stella & Dot, Groopdealz

FYI, I'd been dying for a pair of Torrid's Valentino inspired Rockstud pump look-a-likes, but they didn't come in sizes smaller then 7's. But I found my dupes on eBay for cheap. Check them out above.

And make sure you head over to Walking in Memphis in High Heels to get all the details on Laura's great casual skater skirt look.
Hope you all enjoyed our Day to Night looks.

WIW: Zara Inspired Culottes For Less

Hello! I hope you are all well. I just wanted to say I've been a little bit MIA lately since I have had family in town recently so it's been making it harder to get time to take outfit pictures. And on top of that Baby Sis caught a little bug and she's been absolutely miserable. Poor girl, but at least she's on the up and up now.
I did manage to get some pictures of my outfit yesterday. And I have to share with you how I managed to find the perfect Zara inspired pair of culottes. I'm sure you've seen these shorts, or some may say skort, all over the blogosphere recently. Most notably worn by the ever stylish Olivia Palermo, here in black.

So at first I ordered them from Zara several weeks ago in white. When they arrived I was sorely disappointed to see that they ran a size, maybe even a size and a half too big. Seeing as the smallest size is an XS and that's typically what I would wear, I was very sad to have to return them. Well I knew I had to have these culotte shorts because they're absolutely adorable. And so my hunt for look-a-like pair began.
That's when I turned to eBay knowing I could probably find an Asian seller from China that carries a similar version in smaller sizes. And man did I hit the jackpot. I found them in all the same colors Zara has them available even the sold out blue. Best part was they were only $9.99 and free shipping! Free shipping is always a plus. And for that price I ordered a blue, black and white pair. I decided to keep only the blue and the black. As for the white I considered selling them on Poshmark but decided to gift my teenage cousin with them. If you are on the petite side like I am and would still like to have this look I would definitely recommend checking eBay for smaller sizes. I'm wearing an XS and these fit like an XS should fit. Heck if you're just the average girl on a budget these are a great option too. They do lack the same quality of Zara's but for $10 vs $40 it's not a bad option. And the seller I found shipped rather quickly [link to seller below]. And as I'm writing this I've realized that the Zara ones are currently sold out online.
Outfit Details:
Top: Forever 21 [last worn here] | Bottoms: eBay | Shoes: Me Too via Marshalls [similar here] | Necklace: Groopdealz | Bracelets: J. Crew,  Charming Charlie's, Groopdealz, Forever 21 | Sunnies: Anthropologie

Beauty by Tiffany: Staying Matte

Hello ladies! While my sister is soaking up the sun, I'm here giving you some more insight for Spring makeup! Spring is only the beginning of warm weather and that only means more sun shine! Unfortunately, for some of us, that only means one thing for our skin ... more oils, on top of sun protection (as if that doesn't make me shiny enough!). I've always struggled with oily skin so I'm always excited when I see matte-fying face products!
I've come across three drugstore powders that I use religiously to keep my face matte through out the day. All of these products are available at local drugstores, except NYX cosmetics (that are newly available at Target). All of the powders rangle from about $9-10, so they are very affordable! The three I am about to share will be suitable for any occasion!
Neutrogena's Shine Control Powder is great for everyday use and blotting! It's made with rice protein complex which is used in blotting sheets! This powder comes in one color which is "Invisible 10." It's a transparent powder. You can see it to set your makeup or even to place on your t-zone over a foundation powder. It's a great one to carry on the go for blotting purposes. Even though it is a white powder, don't let that scare you! It does not leave any sort of white cast in pictures or dusty-ness on your face. I personally use this powder on long days spent at Disneyland and I stay matte all day, so I can guarantee it's long lasting! For all you ladies who like to keep it light and simple, this powder will not let you down.
Recently, Ulta had a 40% off (select beauty companies) sale and I had to grab a ton of products I've been wanting to try and of course I was immediately drawn to two matte powders. One of the matte finishing powders was the "Set It, Don't Fret It," mineral powder ... such a catchy name right? The second powder was a powder foundation called "Stay Matte, Not Flat" another cute name of course! Both are amazing powders that keep me matte through out the day! The mineral powder gives such a flawless finish and is light weight...  perfect for setting your foundation and concealer. For the days I prefer more coverage, I use the powder foundation. I find it comparable to Mac's Studio Fix Powder Foundation ($27), and not even half the price! Depending on the coverage you prefer, both these products do what they claim ... keep you matte through out the day!
Another popular matte powder is the "Stay Matte" powder, unfortunately I haven't tried this one out, but our cousin, Brittney has! Here's her review on the matte powder from Rimmel Cosmetics! Very affordable and great for young girls to women!

Whether you're a full coverage girl, just looking for a flawless finish, or just simply want to stay matte and natural ... one of these three powders will definitely suit you and your skin type! With these drugstore prices you can't complain either!

Don't forget to enter the Olive Bracelet giveaway, here. You've still got time so don't hesitate because this gorgeous bauble is selling like hot cakes.

Look For Less: Marchesa

I just had to share this find with you all. As I'm browsing some of my favorite online retailers I came across this beautiful white swing dress on ASOS that resembles the uber popular white Marchesa dress from their Spring 2011 collection, made famous by Olivia Palermo.
Target and Neiman Marcus also produced a collection that featured a similar Marchesa stunner for girls last Christmas, but disappointingly not for women. Unless you're petite there was no chance you could get yourself into the girl's XL dress.

And so it looks like ASOS has come along now and provided a similar dress for $127.16.
ASOS [buy here]
While it's not beaded it's still a beautiful dress and perfect for this Spring and Summer. It's selling quickly [my size is already gone, boo]. So grab it now before it's gone.
