What I Wore: Heart On My Sleeves

I know it's a bit early to be celebrating Valentine's Day, but it happens to be one of my favorite holidays purely because everything comes in shades of pink and little heart shapes. And what better way to get in the spirit then by wearing my heart on my sleeve, literally.

Shell: H&M [recent purchase] | Top: Forever 21 [recent purchase, N/A online, fitting room review here, similar here] | Jeans: American Eagle destroyed jeggings [similar here] | Shoes: Target [available here] | Bracelets: ILY Couture pave link, Kate Spade, Stella & Dot
Sunnies: Ray-Ban Aviators
Even my heart tattoo goes with the theme!
By the way, how amazing are these Target gold cap toe pumps!? Well I'm sure you've already seen them all over the blogosphere, they're hugely popular. And well I just happened to be lucky enough to snag these beauties yesterday for $9. Yup! You heard right, they were on clearance and ridiculously cheap. Online they're also on sale but still over $25, depending on which color you choose. So if you're still lusting for these shoes, I highly recommend checking out your local Target.

Shoes: Shoedazzle [ old, similar here
I actually started out the day wearing these gold loafers, when I went to Target and stumbled upon the pumps for $9. It was a sign that I had to get them because they happened to match my outfit perfectly.

And I felt like spreading the love to my cell phone too!
"Hello, Lover!"

Now, I'm not actually a fan of what the holiday is about, because I personally believe you and your significant other should always show one another how much you care. But how are you getting in the mood for Valentine's Day? Are you as fond of heart prints as I am?

What I Wore: Inspired by Hart of Dixie

I'm not sure if I have yet to tell you all that my celebrity style crush is hands down, Rachel Bilson, with Nicole Richie coming in second. With that said, I always make sure every week to tune into the CW to catch the newest episode of Hart of Dixie just to see what Dr. Zoe Hart, played by Rachel Bilson, is wearing and a little fashion inspiration. There is almost always something I see her wearing that I am just dying to add to my closet or a look that I want to recreate.

Since it was 80+ degrees all weekend, I felt like wearing my leather shorts, but "what with," was the question. Then I remembered the striped Equipment blouse and leather shorts look from Hart of Dixie season one that I've wanted to recreate for some time now. And I figured what a perfect outfit it would be for an afternoon lunch out with the fam. So here it is (please forgive me for the quality of the pics, this was an impromptu OOTD pic)...
My look: Blazer: H&M [old] | Top: Forever 21 [same here, also available in mint] | Shorts: H&M [old] | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff [similar here] | Sunnies: DG [old] | Necklace: Monogram necklace via Groopdealz [rose gold monogram necklace currently available here]
Shoes: Shoedazzle [old]
Baubles: Target | Stella & Dot

Thanks for reading and I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Elvy and my mini-fashionista, Big Sis C.

Updated - Fitting Room Review: Forever 21 v. J. Crew

I had absolutely no intention of buying anything today during our mall trip, but my sister convinced me to go into Forever 21 with her.

So to my surprise, I happened to walk through and stumble upon a heart print blouse, similar to The J. Crew boy shirt in Heart Throb. It immediately jumped out at me and I had to try it on to compare.

If your a huge fan of J. Crew like myself, you'll know that their Heart Throb shirt is hugely popular. But at $135 it's quite steep. However, I did purchase it a few months ago when it went on sale and J. Crew was offering an additional 30% off which made it approximately $60 or so. Even so $60 is quite a lot for a shirt, but every once in awhile I allow myself to splurge. And let me say I only shop J. Crew during a sale where they offer an additional percentage off.

2011 Silk Boy Shirt in Heart Throb [J. Crew Factory just released their version here]
First off, Forever 21's version is quite the bargain at $19.90. And I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of it as well. It's not that cheep sheer material they use on most of their button down blouses, it's actually a silk blend. The heart print is larger then J. Crew's, but still not overwhelming. And the color is a deep navy and red, similar to the 2011 color way from J. Crew. I did not see a black and white version like this past years Heart Throb shirt, maybe they'll release one later. My only real complaint about the shirt is the length. It's a bit shorter then I would like but when tucked into a skirt or skinnies no one would know. You can see and buy it on their website, here.

The gold buttons were a nice touch

Here is the J. Crew Heart Throb shirt. Notice the length difference?  My tank is not visible.
All in all, I thought this top was cute and for $19.90, it was a steal. So off to the registers I went to purchase the blouse.

What do you guys think? Good dup?

Elvy
