WIW: Festival Fever

One reason everyone loves Summer...Music Festivals...DUH! I'm a huge country music fan and there are some amazing country music festivals I would love to go to, but with two little ones toddling around  it's not really possible. I'm a crazy alpha mom or maybe just over protective, either way I don't really like leaving the girls for long periods of tine, hence the stay-at-home status. HA! Even though I won't be headed off to any music festivals anytime soon, it doesn't mean I can't have a little fun and dress like it.
There's just something about chambray. I want it in every form, shirt, skirt, and now dress. Denim seems to go with everything, so I guess that's part of the appeal. And it also helps that it's comfy, causal, and chic. I call that my 3 C's, pieces that meet all those standards are must-haves in my eye.
Pairing a simple chambray dress with booties creates the perfect festival look or for me an easy yet stylish look for running about town with the girls. And to make it a little more me, I glam-ed it up with some sparkly jewels.

I just had to share this picture. Big Sis asked to have her own outfit pictures taken too.
Big Sis is Wearing:
Dress: Target | Shoes: Disney Store
She loves modeling! Haha! This is her new favorite dress. She picked it out while we were at Target and has since asked to wear it every morning. And those shoes, were not my choice, she styled this outfit all on her own. Making her own princess-flower child fashion statement. I'm definitely in for it with this one. Daddy better watch his wallet, she's turning into quite the little fashionista these days.
Getting her to smile for pictures is like pulling teeth, so I was ecstatic when she was willing to for this one.

Festival Fashion

It's that time of year again, Indie music festivals are cropping up and that means it's time to break out those clothes set aside just for this event. Coachella, is one of the biggest Indie music festivals attracting all sorts of celebrities from Nicole Richie to Emma Watson and it is happening this weekend. So you bet there will be all kinds of crazy boho looks sported this weekend.

Festival fashion is relaxed and often times very revealing. It's the only time you can feel free to dress like you're headed to Woodstock and not feel out of place or totally crazy. I myself love a great themed event, call it the sorority girl in me, but any chance to dress up in a not so ordinary outfit is always fun. So bring on the hippie, flower child outfits.

If you still need more inspiration for how to achieve the right festival look, think Nicole Richie. She's the queen of Boho in my eyes and can do no wrong. She rocks flowy dresses, like the one above from Rosie True, to shorty shorts. And maybe we'll even see some side boob action from her since it seems to be the hottest asset to show off these days. Ha! Don't forget to grab those fab sunnies of yours either, because you'll be out in the sun all day long.

Peace, Love, & Fashion!
