Tickled Pink

What's a more perfect outfit to wear on your birthday then a pouffy pink skirt!? I'm celebrating 29 fabulous years today and there's nothing better than feeling like a princess.

This magenta skirt from H&M is just perfection! I'm obsessed with midi length skirts, especially paired with a crop top. Personally, I prefer a shrunken top versus the crop top, it covers just a bit more skin than a crop top and is much more accessible for everyday wear.

Whiten Your Day

It only feels right that for my first blog post back, I share one of my favorite Spring and Summer looks, white on white. I don't know about you guys but it's already been well over 90 degrees here in So Cal, so an all white look always seems to keep me cool.

A tip for creating your on all white outfit is try mixing textures, like I did with the eyelet peplum. It keeps the look fresh and effortless. Best part is we all have various white pieces in our closets, so it's an easy and cheap look to create. You don't need to go out and find trendy pieces that either you never wear again or only lasts a season. White will always be in.

Sporting a Leather Cap 2 Ways

So my good friend Bianca over at Lotus Blossom Design had me re-thinking my ban against baseball caps. All Summer long I lived in my Panama hat and my big floppy sun hats. But now that it's officially Fall it's time to find a new hat for the season. And I've been seeing a lot of faux leather baseball caps. But I've always kept a distance from them because I swear I look like an Asian tourist and well that's not the cutest look. However, after seeing how cute B looked in her's I thought I would give it a second chance. So after dropping Big Sis off at preschool, Baby Sis and I ran our errands and did our typical mall crawl. And I stumbled upon this lovely bordeaux faux leather cap. It was love at first sight. I loved that it wasn't your typical black faux leather, and don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with that. I just felt like black faux leather was a little too edgy for my taste, but the rich wine color just called out to me. Gave it a try, and off to the register we went. Long story, short, I've been pretty much living in it all weekend. Can't get enough of this hat. I've literally been planning my outfits around it. Which leads me to today's look(s). I decided since I had so much wearing it all weekend, I would share with you guys 2 different ways to style a faux leather baseball cap.

Friday Fancies: Get Checked for Every Budget

Since I shared with you all my favorite Fall trend yesterday, the grid print. I thought I would share with you today how you can get the look on every budget. But first here are Olivia Palermo & Aimee Song both rocking a grid print jacket at NYFW. How could you not be inspired by their looks.

Spotted: one romper + two bloggers

Today, I'm excited to be teaming up with the fabulous Meghan of Citrus Refreshing Fashion. She's stylish and nothing short of sweet, welcoming me into this crazy world of blogging with open arms. She is one of my favorite ladies to follow and I feel so fortunate to get to share with you all how we styled our Ann Taylor LOFT spot print romper

I couldn't resist this romper as soon as I saw Meghan mention on her blog that she snagged it on sale. So I stopped into my local LOFT store and luckily found the last one marked down ridiculously plus an additional 60%. Definitely couldn't say 'no' to that. And since purchasing it, I haven't stopped wearing, well just to wash it. But honestly, I love this romper, it has got to be one of the most comfortable pieces I own. Plus it's super light weight and in this crazy heat wave it's all I want to wear.

It's easily dressed up like Meghan did, or throw a denim vest [another Summer fave of mine] and you've got a great casual look. And like the girly girls we are, Meghan and I both saw it necessary to throw in a colorful shoe. Fashionable minds think alike!

WIW: Mint Tutu

Tutu's aren't just for little girls! As a mom of 2 baby girl's I have an abundance of tutu's in my house, but it's not just relegated to the girls. This momma likes to get in one the tutu action every once in awhile too.

There's nothing more girly then throwing on a tutu. And somedays it's nice to embrace the ballerina inside of us. Call me a dance mom if you must, but dressing my girls up for dance class every week makes me want to do the same. Plus this mint tutu is such a dreamy color, obviously I'm not fully ready to relinquish my Summer wardrobe to the richer hues of Fall. And who says you have to! You bet I'll still be rocking white after Labor Day.

WIW: Drop Waist

I'm glad to say I'm back in action! So much has been going on that's kept me away from blogging, but I'm so happy to have some time to get back on and connect with you all again. Since Big Sis just started preschool it means all those germs she's been encountering at school have been brought home and well we've been battling a cold around here that's just been so draining. Baby sis got the worst of it with bronchitis. Luckily we've got an amazing pediatrician and antibiotics and are now on the mend. Hopefully it'll stay that way.
So since I've been doing a lot of running around lately between doctors appointments and taking Big Sis to preschool, I've been opting for comfy looks. And one of my favorite looks these days is the drop waist dress. It's comfy and chic and works great dressed up or down. I recently stopped into H&M to check out their fall arrivals and came across this printed drop waist dress that immediately grabbed my attention. It's a great Summer/Fall transition piece. Pair it with some gladiator sandals for Summer and some booties for fall. Or even add a pair of leggings and you've got a great fall look.
These are the kinds of pieces I've been looking to add to my closet since it's too hot here to even consider putting on a pair of jeans and will probably stay this way at least until October. I'm actually quite jealous of you ladies that are already breaking out some of those amazing fall pieces I've spotted at J. Crew. You won't catch me in any of that until the very end of the year or even January. Some may consider us lucky to live in sunny Socal but I'm ready for a break from this heat.
