A Day At The Fair

No Summer would be complete without a trip to the local county fair. Check out some pictures from our junk food eating, fun filled day at the fair.
The first prize of the day! Boy was she excited to win this giraffe.
Love these sweet little moments between Daddy and his baby girl.
Just chilling on the steps waiting for Big Sis to get off the ride.
Check out Big Sis racing away in the background. She was so excited to be riding all by herself like a big girl.
"Look no hands, Mommy!" My little daredevil.
Fair food. So bad for you but tastes so good! Mac & cheese topped philly cheese steak sandwich. Yum!
Baby Sis getting a ride from Daddy.
What would the fair be without a little face painting.
Baby Sis was happy to just be at the fair, she didn't care she was too small for the rides.

WIW: Hot Pink + Stripes

What is there not to love about the color pink!?! It's my favorite color and with 2 little girls we never have a shortage of pink in our house.
I snagged this pink shirt dress last year during one of J. Crew's many sales, and have found that it's the perfect little dress to just throw on and run out the door. It's comfy and always looks pulled together. When in doubt I turn to this hot pink number. And I never fail to receive compliments on it.  But this time I had reason to pull this pink number out, my new striped flats. I just picked these up over at Shoedazzle. They're the perfect summer flat. Nothing better then pink and stripes.

WIW: Blueberries + Chevron

I am so exited! I finally received my Anthropologie Ava Tortie sunnies. Took long enough, these babies were backordered for over a month. But now that I've got them I've been sporting them everyday no matter the outfit. HAHA! I waited long enough for them so why not. So the first chance I got to wear them out was to go blueberry picking with the girls at local blueberry farm.
Well, lets just put this out there, I'm no country girl. I may love country music and dressing up for country concerts, but that's the extent of it. And it was obvious to everyone when I showed up in this coral scallopped tank and chevron maxi skirt that I am definitely not the least bit country. Luckily blueberry picking is open to the public so I saw other moms show up with their designer handbags.
Outfit Details:
Top: Windsor | Skirt: Windsor | Shoes: Target | Necklaces: Groopdealz | Bracelets: Charming Charlie's and Stella & Dot | Watch: Target | Sunnies: Anthropologie
They were mesmerized by the pigs roll around in the mud.
Baby Sis and I were lagging behind. Her little legs could only go so fast.

Makeover Monday: Fuchsia Lips

So Tiffany, has definitely gotten me into bright bold lip color. Before her I just really didn't have that much interest in lipsticks because it made it almost impossible for me to kiss my little ones and I just love them to pieces and theres not a moment in the day that I don't want to just plant kisses all over their cute little cheeks. But with Tiffany's help she's shown me how many great options there are for non-smudge lippies. And I've pretty much fallen in love with the bold lip trend. Though I save those for days where I'm actually going to be seeing people that are over 3 feet tall.

Anyways, Tiffany has offered to share some ways for you all to try out this Summer lip trend.
I was inspired by my sister's Steal Her Style posts to share with you all how to recreate a popular celebrity makeup trend. So many fashionistas are going bold this summer and rocking the neon lippie! With a smokey eye or even a simple makeup look, the neon lip is perfect for summer! It goes with so many different looks and makes you look like you put effort into doing your makeup any day! Works for blondes or brunette, light or dark skin tones, and dramatic or classic makeup looks!
Here's the daring Katy Perry rocking the neon lip with a dramatic smokey eye and the fashionista Nicole Richie rocking the same lippie with a more neutral eye!
This limited edition lipstick has been brought back for good! It is the brightest lipstick I've ever laid eyes on and is described as a neon pink lipstick. It has absolutely become one of my favorites. In a previous post I also mentioned there was a drugstore dupe for this color, Maybelline's Fuchsia Flash [see the review here].
Check out the side by side comparison:
MAC vs. Maybelline
Though on camera you cant tell the finish the colors are almost identical, however when on Fuchsia Flash isn't nearly as bright as Candy Yum Yum. But it's still a definite steal if you want the MAC look but don't want to splurge.

Also, Candy Yum Yum has a matte finish which is also another hot lipstick trend that I'm a huge fan of.  But if you're not to sure about the whole matte lipstick thing, a great option to give the same bold lip color, is Lancome's Poodle Skirt.
This lipstick has a bright blue undertone with tiny amounts of shimmer. I am not usually a fab of shimmer of glitter, but this lipstick has the perfect amount. In the light, you can see more of the blue undertone. So if Candy Yum Yum is too bright, this shade of pink is a bit lighter and will not appear as neon, but will still give you that bright bold lip color you are looking for.

Well I hope you all enjoyed Tiffany's trend to try. And wishing you all a fabulous week!

Steal Her Style: Kate Beckinsale's Color Blocked Outfit

So my inspiration this week comes from the beautiful, Kate Beckinsale. I mean come on, she's gorgeous who wouldn't want to look like her.  And she totally rocked the color blocked trend like nobody's business.
Source: Listal via Pinterest
I was able to recreate this look with some great affordable pieces from H&M. While my top is more of an orange then Kate's, it still gives off a great bright summer-y vibe. And it's currently available at H&M for $4.95! Ridiculousness right!? When I saw the price tag I was immediately shocked. And, no it wasn't on sale. It's actually part of their Summer essentials that are starting at $4.95. Pretty amazing if you ask me.
I also paired this top with a wrap skirt from H&M that I got at the end of last Summer but have only worn once. And it just so happened to be the same color as Kate's. Like Kate, I kept the styling and jewelry simple to really let the color blocked outfit standout on its own. Plus I was taking my daughter on a preschool tour so I didn't want to be jingle jangling while the kids were trying to learn. Which is also why I opted for nude flats instead of  pumps. Walking on a playground in heels wasn't something I felt like trying to do especially when the preschool happened to also be a farm.
Outfit Details:
Top: H&M [available in store, similar here] | Skirt: H&M [old, skirt in similar color here] | Shoes: J. Crew Factory | Necklace: Lotus Blossom Design | Sunnies: Ray-Ban

I'm loving these bright hues this Summer. How about you?
Hope you enjoyed this week's style inspiration.

WIW: Elephants Never Looked So Good

Elephant print shorts. Need I say more?
I'm absolutely in love with these shorts! I could have never imagined elephants being so cute. Well except for Dumbo. But these shorts were a must-have as soon as I laid my eyes on them. And, yes, I may be a little animal print crazy, seahorses now elephants. But I can't seem to help myself when they look so darn good on.
I am so lucky to have the bestest friend ever. Since these shorts have been sold out online pretty much since Banana Republic launched the collection I didn't think it was going to be possible to get my hands on them. But thanks to my BFF, Liz, I was able to get these. So if you're still looking for these there are some stores out there that do still have these Milly Collection shorts. And a little tidbit , if they're out of your size in a regular try on a pair of petites in the next size up from your regular size. This was a little tip from the Banana Republic rep. Don't do this with pants but shorts are called shorts for a reason, so a smidge shorter in the inseam won't do any harm.
What makes these shorts so amazing, is that the print isn't as overwhelming as you would imagine elephant printed anything could be. The colors are neutral and makes it an easy piece to mix and match with all sorts of tops even printed ones. Since I love color I chose to pair the shorts with some pinks and a bright bag. But I could easily imagine these shorts paired with a nice pair of black pumps and clutch for dressier affairs.
Outfit Details:
Top: Gap [old] | Shorts: Banana Republic [loving these J. Crew Seahorse shorts, here] | Shoes: J. Crew [similar here] | Bag: Steve Madden | Belt: Target | Necklace: Lotus Blossom Design | Bracelets: Lotus Blossom Design, Groopdealz, Betsey Johnson | Sunnies: House of Harlow
Are you guys loving all these animal prints?

WIW: Festival Fever

One reason everyone loves Summer...Music Festivals...DUH! I'm a huge country music fan and there are some amazing country music festivals I would love to go to, but with two little ones toddling around  it's not really possible. I'm a crazy alpha mom or maybe just over protective, either way I don't really like leaving the girls for long periods of tine, hence the stay-at-home status. HA! Even though I won't be headed off to any music festivals anytime soon, it doesn't mean I can't have a little fun and dress like it.
There's just something about chambray. I want it in every form, shirt, skirt, and now dress. Denim seems to go with everything, so I guess that's part of the appeal. And it also helps that it's comfy, causal, and chic. I call that my 3 C's, pieces that meet all those standards are must-haves in my eye.
Pairing a simple chambray dress with booties creates the perfect festival look or for me an easy yet stylish look for running about town with the girls. And to make it a little more me, I glam-ed it up with some sparkly jewels.
Outfit Details:
Dress: Mimi Chica via Nordstrom Rack [similar here] | Booties: H&M [similar here] | Bag: Steve Madden | Necklace: Forever 21 | Bracaelets: Lotus Blossom Design, Stella & Dot | Sunnies: Ray-Ban
I just had to share this picture. Big Sis asked to have her own outfit pictures taken too.
Big Sis is Wearing:
Dress: Target | Shoes: Disney Store
She loves modeling! Haha! This is her new favorite dress. She picked it out while we were at Target and has since asked to wear it every morning. And those shoes, were not my choice, she styled this outfit all on her own. Making her own princess-flower child fashion statement. I'm definitely in for it with this one. Daddy better watch his wallet, she's turning into quite the little fashionista these days.
Getting her to smile for pictures is like pulling teeth, so I was ecstatic when she was willing to for this one.

Peace, Love, & Happiness!
