Friday Fancies: Summer Beauty Must-Haves

As the girls and I went on our weekly Target trip, I was undoubtedly drawn to the beauty and personal care department. All the bright hues were just calling to me, and it doesn't help that my girls love playing with all the makeup. Such girly girls, just like they're mommy.
Beyond that, the Summer Trend Resort collection from Essie was fully stocked and oh so pretty. The lipsticks were all so pink and perfect, I just had to look and maybe take a few hone with me to play with. But it gave me the inspiration for this week's Friday Fancies.
Summer Beauty Must haves
Essie Summer 2013 Trend Collection - These bold colors are perfect for showing off that Summer tan.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunblock, 100+ SPF - I'm a little neurotic when it comes to SPF and I constantly reapply. So one that's light, doesn't clog my pores, and provides sun protection is a definite must. That's why this Neutrogena one is my fave! I've been using Neutrogena's sunblock for years now and have absolutely no complaints.

Lush Ocean Salt Body Scrub - I'm in definite need of a great body scrub one that evens my skin tone and keeps it glowing. I've heard rave reviews on this scrub and have been wanting to try it. I may have to make the hour drive to SD to pick up a jar to try.

Milani Statement Lipstick in Flamingo Pose & Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Lipcolor in Shocking Coral - A bright pink lipstick always looks great with any Summer look. I've slowly becoming a lipstick addict and these are at the top of my list to try.

Vaseline Spray & Go - I mentioned this once before, and I have to say that I've started to rely on this product a lot lately. I'm thinking I may need to toss one of these puppies into the car glove compartment. I love how quickly and easily I can moisturize while on the go with these crazy kiddos, especially since ashy knees are definitely NOT in style.  This spray is just perfect though for beating that dryness that occurs throughout the day.

Let's just say Target trips are never quick, and I'm always left wanting more. I guess that's why there's always next week.

And lastly, what a great way to kick off the weekend, then with a fabulous giveaway! Style Elixir's Lauren Slade, myself and several other beautiful bloggers have teamed up for a fabulous giveaway. Go and enter at Style Elixir now!

Have a wonderful sunshine filled weekend!

WIW: My New Favorite Summer Must-Have

Earlier in the week, I showed you a tunic look featuring this denim vest and here it is again. I found this vest during American Eagle's Memorial Day weekend sale. I've been looking for a great fitting one for a while now. So this was a great find. I've seen many budget friendly ones at Target and Forever 21 but they either didn't have my size, the fit was off, or the color just wasn't what I wanted. But now that I've found it, it has been in heavy rotation. If you are looking for a great sturdy denim vest check out American Eagle since it's not yet available online.

And this week, I was lucky enough to be featured by Perfectly Coutured and Every Day Fashion & Finance on Three-fer Thursday. Check out these 2 fashionable gals and their linkup every Thursday.

WIW: Comfort is Key

Comfort is absolutely key to dressing here in SoCal as we start heading into the Summer months. Honestly it starts getting so warm that it's almost unbearable. So what better way to keep the sun away then a great hat. I'm sure you saw me wearing this Panama hat all over Maui and recently in my Two-fer Tuesday post a couple of weeks ago. It's most definitely the best $12 I've spent.

I've never been a hat person. mostly because I kind of have a small head and most hats just don't fit. And well the kids hats usually have some print that just doesn't work for me. But when I stumbled upon this hat at H&M I knew I just had to have it and luckily they made it in a smaller size. If you follow me on Pinterest, you may have noticed I've been pinning a lot of looks with hats. Now that I've found this one I'm on the look out for others. I guess you could say that I've sort of become obsessed with hats.

The Panama hat really pulled together my whole look. Without the hat it would just be another simple look and nothing interesting.

Two-fer Tuesday: The Tunic

This season one of my favorite pieces has to be the tunic. It's such a versatile piece in my eyes. I picked up this particular one at H&M right before we headed to Maui and got so much use out of it. But even since then I've found so many ways and reasons to wear it beyond just being a swim cover up. Plus there are so many fun prints out there right now. Check out these ones that have caught my eye from J. Crew, ASOS, and J. Crew Factory.

Look 1: Boho for the Day
I really enjoy this look for the day. It's a little festival but not so overdone that it can't be worn for everyday errands.
Look 2: Tunic Turned Dressy
And with a quick change of shoes and a few accessories you're set to go to brunch or even dinner. I actually wore this recently when the Hubs and I went to Paradise Point in San Diego.
The tunic dress is a forgiving piece and can really work for most body types. Belting it can create shape if you're like me and straight up and down. But it also cinches and gives the appearance of a smaller waist if you've got assets elsewhere. And I even like it alone without all the fuss.
Outfit Details:
Look 1 - Vest: American Eagle [only in stores, similar here] | Tunic: H&M | Shoes: H&M [similar here and here] | Necklace: Forever 21 | Bracelets: Lotus Blossom Design, Groopdealz | Sunnies: Coach
Look 2 - Tunic: H&M | Shoes: Rock & Republic [similar here] | Belt: Target | Necklace: Luxe Craving | Bracelets: Lotus Blossom Design, Stella & Dot, Betsey Johnson viz Nordstrom Rack

So if you're looking for a versatile piece that will last you all Summer, I definitely recommend trying this look. H&M is constantly updating their stock and I've seen so many great prints all for $12-$15. Which really can't be beat.

Have a great week! And as always thank you for reading!

Beauty By Tiffany: It's Time To Wake Up!

I hope you're all having a glorious Memorial Day Weekend. I love Memorial Day because it's like the kickoff party to Summer.

I thought it would be appropriate to share with you guys a few make-up tips from Tiffany that will inevitably come in handy tomorrow when we all head back to reality and many people back to work. After all those BBQ's and margaritas during the long weekend, it's often hard to get back into the swing of things on a Tuesday. And getting up early once again is never fun, so here are a few tricks to help you look more awake even if you're still dead tired.
Make-Up Featured:
Covergirl and Olay Simply Ageless Eye Corrector ($10.99 - $12 @ local drugstore) | Maybelline Color Tattoo by Eyestudio ($5.49-$6.99 @ local drustore) | Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl by Rimmel ($3.50+ @ local drugstore)

For the days we're feeling a bit more tired, make up is always there to have our backs ... or in this case our face! I have three quick tricks that can automatically make you look more awake. All three of these tips revolve around our eyes because of course beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder ... unless they're looking real tired! Here is how we can instantly add hours of sleep to our face!

Tip #1: Use a concealer that is two or three shades lighter than you skin to not only hide, but brighten up your under eye. I personally use this Covergirl eye corrector in the color 230 Corrector because it is a yellow tone and it hydrates the under eye area. Any light concealer works for this trick! This will brighten up your face and highlight your under eye area and high cheek points... automatically making you look more awake and youthful!

Tip #2: Use a champagne color and pop this in your inner corner of your eye to brighten up your eye or evenly swipe over your eyelid and let it fade into your crease. This trick adds to the brightening to your eyes, making them look more open and awake. This works best with shimmery shadows, apply as much as you're comfortable with. I personally use the Color Tattoo in Barely Beige (from Fall 2012 collection), but Barely Branded is very similar and is part of the permanent collection. As of NOW at your local drugstore the Summer 2013 limited edition collection is available and the color Precious Pearl will work great with this trick.

Tip #3: The quickest trick that will work in addition to the second trick is to pop a nude/champagne/white eyeliner in your water line. I am IN LOVE with this eyeliner that's new to the Rimmel makeup collection! This will make the illusion of your eyes being more open and awake. Urban Decay also makes champagne color jumbo eye shadow sticks that work wonders with this trick also! Sometimes white is too harsh for some looks, so I prefer a nude liner, but none the less, still does the job!

And remember to NEVER tug around the skin around your eye because that only causes wrinkles! But these tricks will be sure to make you look more awake on those days you just aren't feeling up to par.

Hope you enjoyed Tiffany's beauty tips! Check back later this week for a fabulous giveaway.

Friday Fancies: Sunny Yellows + Prints

It's that time of the week again, it's finally Friday and that means I get to share some of the things that have caught my eye this week. Maybe with some of the Memorial Day sales I can get a little extra discount on some of these pretties.

I think I have a thing for yellow. I didn't even realize that pretty much everything I've been wanting is yellow until I put together this style board. Oh well, what better way to embrace the warm weather then with this sunny color.
Shorts: American Eagle | Shoes: Zara | Dress: ASOS | Sunnies: Anthropologie | Skirt: J. Crew Factory | Dress: Forever 21 | Bikini: Topshop
Well I hope you all enjoy your long weekend. And happy Memorial Day shopping!

WIW: Insipired By MK & Ashley

I was inspired to put together this look after seeing my favorite fashionable twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen sporting a similar look. I've always been admirer of the Olsen twins fashion choices, even the homeless look somehow just works on them. Luckily this was a little less homeless looking then their usual and definitely a look I can work all Summer long.
What's integral to any Summer attire? A pair of Daisy Dukes. I think I own at least a dozen  or more different pairs in various shades and levels of destroyed-ness. Don't think that's a word, but you get what I mean. I can't remember a Summer where I didn't live in denim cut-off shorts. They work with everything and are just so darn comfortable when it's so uncomfortably hot. And this season I'm glad to see denim shorts in longer lengths too. I don't discriminate against longer inseams, in fact I'm actually a huge fan of them.

However, for this Inspired By look, the shortie shorts did the trick. I thought it would be fun to switch it up a bit and wear my polka dot denim shorts. These shorts are just fun and were a steal last Fall for only $12 at American Eagle.

WIW: Bring On The Brights

I've never been one to shy away from bold colors so as Summer approaches my outfits tend to become quite colorful. Everything from neon's to hot pinks fill my closet. It's probably why I love the warm weather.

As soon as I saw how perfectly pink this skirt was I knew I had to have it. I must confess that I am a girly girl to a 'T' and anything pink generally grabs my attention, especially when it's Barbie pink like this J. Crew Factory skirt.

I love that a colorful outfit can just brighten your day. And for busy days like the one I had, a bright outfit can help keep you feeling energized to keep going. Paired with cute sandals for going to dance class and running errands or dressed up with a pair of wedges, this bright Summer look will most definitely be on repeat over the next few months.
Outfit Details:
Top: Forever 21 [similar here] | Skirt: J. Crew Factory | Sandals: Target | Belt: from another dress | Necklace: via Nordstrom Rack | Bracelets: Forever 21, J. Crew, Stella & Dot, and Groopdealz | Sunnies: House of Harlow 1960
Another little plus about this skirt, the length is just right for getting down and playing out front with Baby Sis while Big Sis was napping.
And I would also like to quickly Thank Amber over at Real Girl Glam for choosing my as one of her Real Girls With Style. If you blogging ladies haven't linked up with her yet, definitely check out her blog.
As always, Thank you for reading!

Two-fer Tuesday: The Maxi Skirt

One of my favorite transitional pieces that will carry you through the entire year is a great maxi skirt. I love these flowing skirts because they're perfect for casual days or dressy nights. And a good maxi skirt can create a multitude of outfits.

I recently found this maxi skirt at Target for only $18. I've been on the hunt for a black maxi skirt and I thought this one was great for the price. I didn't want just any black maxi, at 5'4 length is a concern when purchasing maxi skirts and dresses. I always find that they're either too long or the material isn't great and will shrink and fade considerably when washed. And if you're looking for other fun colors this skirt also is available in coral and a greenish shade.

Here are two easy breezy ways to wear a maxi skirt this Summer. And coincidentally, both looks feature budget friendly pieces from Target.

Look 1: Neon Tee + Maxi Skirt

Weekend Recap: Baby's Sis Big Top Birthday Bash

So as you all know Baby Sis turned 1 a little over a week ago. But since Mother's Day weekend fell on the same weekend as her actual birthday we held off on having a birthday party till this weekend. I was super busy last week prepping for the party and am so so happy that it's all over and I have a little breather before I go into party planning mode for Big Sis.
And here are some pictures from Baby Sis's big day.
I made these simple little centerpieces because I thought the Hydrangeas looked a little like popcorn.
Mommy and her girls.
Reunited with my best girlfriends and it feels so good.
Successful cake smash. She was covered from head to toe in frosting. Thank goodness we were at our community park and the pools have brand spanking new showers to hose this little girl down. HAHA!
Big Sis showing off her face painting. I think we may need to have a clown to face paint and make balloon animals at every party. This girl loved Freckles so much.
I loved this little vintage ruffled onesie that I picked up on Etsy.
WHEEEEE! A little outfit change and some fun on the swings. This girl had a fabulous celebration.
Just showing off our crowns. Princesses all the way.
This just cracks me up. Big Sis stole my besties. HAHA!
And a little family picture to top it all off.

My Outfit Details:
Top: H&M [old] | Shorts: Express [similar here] | Shoes: Steve Madden via TJ Maxx | Necklaces: Groopdealz | Sunnies: House of Harlow
Big Sis's Outfit:
Dress: Target | Shoes: Old Navy
Baby Sis's Oufits:
Onesie: MonkeyTees via Etsy | Dress: Zulily | Shoes: Target | Hat: Target

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that this week is nothing less!
